My First Trackday

We realize that signing up for your first track day can be intimidating, nerve-wracking, and each of you may have your own anticipations up to the day of the event. Well we at Pacific Track Time would like to be the first ones to assure you that there is nothing to be nervous or intimidated about. And what you can expect is to have a safe, thrilling and unforgettable day with your motorcycle unlike you've ever had!

Because where else can you safely go fast without worrying about animals, cars, police, potholes, ditches, dirt, sand or unidentified fluids in the road? Where everyone is going in the same direction, at similar speeds while wearing great protection? The racetrack is an adrenaline rush distinct from any other, and we are here to provide the best track day experience around.

Pacific Track Time events are designed to help outfit you with the knowledge, skills and preparation for any on-track endeavor of your choice. Whether you're brand new or you've been track-riding for years, by surrounding yourself with the true motorcycle enthusiasts at Pacific Track Time, you'll always find yourself in good hands both on and off the track. We guarantee it!

That said; let's walk through a first track day experience with Pacific Track Time.

• You can do this online HERE or by calling our office at 530.223.0622.

• Rider and bike checklists can be seen HERE.
• If you're a good distance from the track we recommend arriving the night before to get ample rest.

• Before you enter the paddock you will be required to sign the track's release waiver.
• After you enter find a place to park, unload your bike and gear and set-up your pit area. Then head on over to registration without your bike.

• Registration is located near the hot pit/track entry and can be identified by a large banner reading "Pacific Track Time Registration".
• At registration you will sign Pacific Track Time's Release of Liability waiver and receive any additional important information on the day's event.

• After you register, get your bike and bring it to Technical Inspection, clearly marked, by small orange cones near the registration area.
• Show the tech inspector your "proof of registration" (provided by the PTT staff member you registered with) and they will check your bike.
• A list of motorcycle safety requirements can be viewed HERE. All motorcycles must pass tech inspection before they are allowed to enter the track. This is for everyone's safety and leads to a more enjoyable day for all. (Requirements are the same for a track day as well as NRS students).

• This ensures ample time to arrive at the riders meeting and both will re-open after the meeting has ended.

• Everyone intending to ride that day must attend the riders meeting. No exceptions.
• This meeting is held in the racetrack's hospitality room and covers very important information for that particular day.

• This class is for all first-time track riders or any riders new to a certain track and is directly after the riders meeting located in the hospitality room.
• It is lead by one of our trained instructors, lasts approximately twenty-five (25) minutes and provides pertinent information to properly negotiate the track.
• Here you will be able to ask any questions you may have to better educate yourself on track riding prior to your first session out.
• This person will also be your contact throughout the day.

• C group riders will line up at the hot pit entrance to be let onto the track in packs of 4 or 5 riders lead by one of our instructors identified by a bright orange belt. Groups will leave in a staggered fashion to allow plenty of room.
• Each instructor will lead their small pack around the track for two slow laps to show proper lines, familiarize riders with the track layout and show turn worker stations. After a few laps the instructor will exit the track and the riders will continue to ride the remainder of the session.

• Proceed to hot pit entrance and begin your next riding session. The remainder of sessions, starting with the second, will not be lead by instructors.
• Riders are released in a staggered fashion to prevent large packs and traffic on track.

• We ensure the track café/grill is open for both breakfast and lunch. Varied menus are offered from burgers to salads.

• A group goes out first, followed by the B group and then C group alternating 20-minute sessions.
