Inspections

Motorcycle Requirements/Preparation

  • Tape or disconnect tail light
  • Headlight and signals,tape not necessary
  • Tape or remove the mirrors
  • Tires and brakes must be in excellent condition
  • Ethyl-glycol based coolants are allowed (i.e., Antifreeze)
  • Clean and safe motorcycle

Pacific Track Time will conduct a basic technical inspection of your motorcycle prior to you riding on the track. Our skilled tech inspectors will be looking for mechanical deficiencies and assist you in making sure your motorcycle is safe. We recommend doing a thorough inspection of your motorcycle prior to arriving at the track. Below is a basic checklist:

  • Oil - correct level / fill cap & drain plug tight / oil filter tight / leaks
  • Tires - Wear / air pressure
  • Wheels - cracks / bent
  • Throttle - adjustment / snaps closed
  • Front & Rear Brakes - leaks / properly bled / reservoir fluid levels (DO NOT OVERFILL)
  • Brake & Clutch Levers - proper adjustment
  • Brake Discs - excessive wear / warped
  • Brake Calipers & Pads - bolts tight / pad wear / leaks
  • Forks - seals leaking / pinch bolts tight
  • Handlebars - straight / free of cracks / bolts tight
  • Foot pegs/ Shifter / Brake Lever - bolts tight
  • Rear Wheel - alignment / axle nut & adjusters tight
  • Chain & Sprockets - condition / adjustment
  • Bodywork - secure / fasteners tight
  • Engine Covers - leaks / bolts tight
  • Radiator & Hoses - leaks / hose clamps tight / coolant reservoir level
  • Basic Visual Inspection - leaks / bolts missing / loose parts / etc

Gear Requirements

  • Undamaged DOT or Snell Rated full face helmet with face shield.
  • One- or two-piece full zip together leather or Aerostitch/Equivalent textile style riding suit.
  • Undamaged leather gauntlet style gloves that fully cover the wrist.
  • Riding Boots that fully cover the ankle.
  • Back protector is highly recommended.

Checking your riding gear and safety equipment is just as important as checking your motorcycle. Pacific Track Time technical inspectors are happy to help you check your gear if you have any questions. Flags

Flags may vary by different track day providers, please take a moment to review the Pacific Track Time flags. A detailed description will be given in the PTT daily morning riders meeting prior to entering the track.

Green – Start or All Clear: Signals the start of a session.

Yellow (motionless) – Caution: Displayed for riders to be aware of a hazard ahead. No passing until past the hazard.

Yellow (waving) – Extreme Caution: Displayed for a hazard on track or in a direct impact area ahead. No passing until past the hazard.

Yellow with Red Stripes – Surface Flag: Something is on the course surface ahead. ie, dirt, debris. fluid. No passing until past the hazard.

Black with Red Dot (meatball) – Infraction or Mechanical: Indicates mechanical issues with your bike or a rule infraction. Maintain safe speed and immediately report to the grid marshal.

Black (waiving) – Track Closure: Indicates a track closure, maintain a slow safe speed and return to the pits. No passing.

Red (waiving) – Stop on Course: All riders will come to a safe and controlled stop on course in a highly visible area and remain stopped until directed to continue back to the pits.

Checkered – End of session.
